Solid? Seriously? I think we saw a different film, because she wasn\’t solid, she was perfect and amazing. She deliveres the best performance of the year. I disagree with most everything else you\’ve said in this article, but this one I had to defend. Solid. Goodness.

@Nik Grape, I don\’t think this is a spoilery film, personally. But maybe that\’s just me. And yeah, the \”twist\” you mention is the part I wouldn\’t want to know going in, but everything else is fair game in my opinion. It\’s not like were talking about Breaking Bad or something.

Aaahhh why so many spoilers for those who haven\’t seen the film?? At least the major twist is not revealed.

I thought Olivia Colman, an actress known for comedic roles on TV, was more than just solid. Oscar-worthy more like.

The end of the film helps it not sink in cliches, though the ones you mention are certainly there. I\’d give it a B personally, since it seemed like there was more than just anger, anger from Joseph (you forgot to mention his dying best friend for example) who was a pretty complex character.

A solid debut from Considine. He\’s going to continue directing, which is great news.
