In your review, you rave about the show's subtlety and lack of manufactured moments. Too bad your review didn't strive for a little more of this, especially where you say "this family may feel more real to you than your own." Hyperbole lives!!!!!!!!

Honestly, not a bad review. It is written better than most of them on this site, especially by Rodrigo. But it could have done without the movie poster review line. I was half expecting later to read how this film was a milestone in human existence, how the performances in it were those of geniuses and how watching it would alter my life and how I perceive reality until the day I die.

re: "If we have one niggle, (in fact it’s more of a concern for the show’s reception) it’s that the first episode is definitely the slowest of the four and we very much hope that, in the absence of any cliffhangers or other stock TV tactics, viewers will feel the pull enough to come back the following week."

If I'm not mistaken, it was announced yesterday that this is airing over two nights--parts 1 and 2 on a Sunday and parts 3 and 4 on Monday.
