Keanu: ZOMG I LOVE HIM!!!
The only A-lister worthy of being an A-lister. (All else being gutter trash. OK maybe also Jolie and Pitt. But there I draw the line.) Superstars acting bigger than life. Before Cruise became a sad sack, he was up there, with his planes and staged screaming crowds. Now there is only Keanu (and Jolie and Pitt). \”Stars\” is too small a word for them. They are SUPERSTARS and icons. A rare and dying breed.

Let Richard Kelly write and direct it then make a documentary about the making of \”Akira\”. That might turn out to be better than the film itself.

Seriously, they should just let this one go and pour the money into some smaller projects.

Here we go, ready?:

1) Set the film in Neo-TOKYO.

2) Send out a casting call that\’ll grab the attention of all 25 Japanese actors in L.A. and N.Y. You\’ll have a Kaneda and Tetsuo in 48 hours.

3) Cast Ken Watanabe as the Colonel.

4) Continue with planned \”EPIC\” CGI laden fight scenes and \”Blade Runner\”-esque architecture.

Boom. Instant blockbuster.

Well, the big difference is: one has Alfonso Cuaron and the other one Albert Hughes at its helm. WB might want to start making changes there for \”Akira,\” then the casting problems might get smaller too.
