Your words surprised me, because Hard Candy seems widely loathed among the movie-blog-osphere, while 30 Days of Night was rather well-received.

However, I agree wholeheartedly. I loved Hard Candy, and while 30DoN was above average for a vampire movie, it was hardly all that exceptional.

Slade's turn at the Twilight franchise proves he's got some skill, though: the third book was the most boring in the series, yet he managed to turn it into the best film of the series so far.

I'd say he's got a descent chance of makeing Wolvie 2 suck a lot less than the first one.
