I cannot quite work out where you are going with this and am more keen than ever to see this film and make my own decision.
Secondly, you clearly have not done your research. Have you not heard of the James Bulger case (an actual crime which occurred in the UK in 1993?) This actually prompted me to read the book and upon discovering that the very talented Amy Berg was directing it has made me desperate to see how she portrays it.
Lastly, I am confused by the comparison between Every Secret Thing and Prisoners – the only comparison I can see between these two stories is the kidnapping of a child.
