Paramount and profitability is such a questionable notion, since all their recent blockbusters have all these back-end deals for other participants. The money is nice, even on top of a $200 million budget and at least $80-100 mil on marketing, but how much of that chunky change is Steven Spielberg and Bay seeing? Bay pocketed $80 mil. after that last film entered profitability, the guy might make $100 million this time.

Jesus christ.

Ostensibly yes and one would hope, but with that recent article where Paramount (who distributed T2) insisted that franchises and blockbusters were going to be their business since they're not doing so hot (see upcoming shit like "G.I.Joe") I personally wouldn't bank on it.

And the excellent Paramount Vantage, all but doesn't exist anymore, sadly.
