Murphy\’s a miserable so-and-so, but I wouldn\’t describe that as a \”dig\” at Tobey Maguire. Rather, he\’s comparing the trilogy to Spider-Man where Maguire\’s (and Raimi\’s) salaries ballooned to the point that it made financial sense for Marvel/Sony to just reboot. But Murphy\’s point is that they can still use the Transformers and just insert a new cast.

Makes sense. Does anyone really wanna see the origin story again? And the voice cast are presumably cheap. They didn\’t get many big stars.
