I think my biggest hope for "Catching Fire" is that they don't underplay or skip out on Katniss's PTSD. I think that one scene in the Victor Village after the Capitol announces the Quarter Quell stuff, made me love the series. Her freaking out in that house, it sold it to me. It would've been an entirely different series if Katniss accepted her fate or was like "yay! Back in the Hunger Games!" But her freaking out reminded us that one this a little girl who was thrown into a horrible situation and two killing isn't supposed to be fun. These kids were thrown into horrible situations. That, the Annie scene with Finnick (the older lady volunteering for the Games), seeing how the different victors reacted to being thrown back into the ring... The Morphling addicts from District 6 for example are kinda' like Haymitch. Went to the morphine instead of the booze. And the man that lost his hand, that scene with all the Victors on stage, holding hands in support, that scene made me cry. I'm not normally a stickler for keeping with the text because I understand books are different from movies, but these scenes give the whole story the series a heart.

If the deal goes through (and I'm really hoping it does as I loved Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3) this will be awesome for Catching Fire. Also, nice that you mentioned that Francis Lawrence is an "underrated stylist"....I think he'll do a great job directing CatchingFire.
