Wow, I failed to notice. Richard Corliss is kind of the worst, but his list is not bad and he gives love to 4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days. That's a weird one cause it was released in 2007 worldwide, but then came out Feb 2008 stateside.

If i did consider it a 2008 film (and I probably would) there's really no one way any sane person can't put it on their list.

There's a lot of great holdover films like that too like The Counterfeiters and Reprise which i believe were released and at Cannes the year before.

I'm not sure why people have slept on those and maybe it's simply because they were released so early but that doesn't make them any less great, and certainly the Oscar-bait so far (which most people relegate to their top 10s requisitely?) is pretty week.

I just came back from Defiance. Probably a B or a B+ and a hell of a lot better than we were led to believe and I expected.

The guy who made the Time magazine’s list also has Speed Racer on there…how does he still have a job?

I’ve actually seen a couple of lists now with Defiance on there to my surprise, including the NBRs. I was planning on making my list before I see this film (as it won’t open in my city til Jan 16), but now I’m worried I should wait.

Yes. though it’ll be harder to do than last year when there were a LOT of great soundtracks. This year, it’s been a better year for score material than it has soundtrack CDs with lots of various songs on them.
