Smith have to tank before he is done ? (along with pal Shamalyan ). You wouldn’t put up with 1000’s of others performing to even half the level of Smith.

Will also has less films than all the other actors mentioned, yet still has great box office numbers. I think DiCaprio could’ve been mentioned too and I think he has less movies than Will, but his movies are consistent in quality and his box office numbers are more than double of Streep’s.

Will’s last hit excluding Suicide Squad was Men in Black 3 in 2012 and it was his last good film that was a hit, not the first Men in Black. His last true hit was Hancock, but his last good film that was a hit was definitely not in the 90s. I Am Legend and Pursuit of Happyness are good films and they were hits. Without Mission Impossible, Tom’s last hit was 4 years ago and he came out with a movie last year, although the movie was good, it wasn’t a hit. At least Will got a Golden Globe nomination in 2015.

You’re right Sam doesn’t lead movies, so he is different. But I do think Denzel can compared to him, although he doesn’t make blockbuster’s like Tom, but neither does Streep.

If you take out SUICIDE SQUAD where he was part of an ensemble, Will Smith hasn’t had a real hit since HANCOCK in 2008. If you’re talking about quality Will Smith hasn’t done a good film that’s a hit since arguably the first MEN IN BLACK (maybe HITCH if you’re forgiving).
Samuel L. Jackson may be in the most money makers of all time but that’s because the guy is always working. He rarely leads a film but is always part of the team.
Denzel Washington is a good comparison though. He doesn’t do mega mainstream 4-quadrant blockbusters but his work almost always delivers a success.

I would agree that Stallone & Willis can’t compare to Cruise. Maybe back in the 80s or 90s but those two are now mostly making video on demand titles unless if it’s a Rocky or Die Hard sequel.
