The annual Oscars Luncheon occurred this morning at the Beverly Hilton which meant a large number of nominees found a seat for the annual Oscars class photo. The 2023 edition included “Top Gun: Maverick” Best Picture nominee Tom Cruise, “TAR” Best Actress nominee Cate Blanchett, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Supporting Actress nominee Angela Bassett and “Aftersun” Best Actor nominee Paul Mescal, among others. You can see who sat or stood near who in the larger version of the photo embedded in this post.

What was more interesting was who didn’t make it. Original Song nominees Lady Gaga and Rihanna? Nope (although the latter is not a surprise considering the Super Bowl performance last night). Controversial Best Actress nominee Andrea Riseborough? Nope. And another surprise Best Actress nominee, “Blonde’s” Ana de Armas didn’t make it either (like Riseborough and Gaga, she reportedly had shooting commitments).

Other attendees included Steven Spielberg, a three-time nominee this year, Guillermo del Toro, Bill Nighy, Judd Hirsch, Roger Deakins, Baz Luhrmann, Ryan Coogler, Michelle Williams, Austin Butler, Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The 95th Academy Awards will be handed out on March 12 live on ABC at 5 PM PT/ 8 PM ET.
