He was writing his own adaptation with Charles McKeown and didn\’t manage to write something he liked and was big enough to encompass the book in a single movie. Do your homework !

Like, laughably bad. I\’m speaking from having read it; trust me, that was no great loss to cinema.

There\’s also a very detailed script Welles wrote for his version of HEART OF DARKNESS. It\’s extremely specific and could easily be made into a film. (Let\’s not forget the made for tv Heart Of Darkness with Tim Roth as Marlow and John Malkovich as (a surprisingly bland) Kurtz.

It sounds promising because for the most part the rest of the movies in that series have been pretty solid and very adult-themed. I believe they\’ve all been PG-13.
