Um, hi there, you might want to check what review you’re posting your rant under. This is for The Alienist — a TV show, not a movie — based on a very good Caleb Carr book which was indeed set in New York City.

The book didn’t work and the movie looks even less likely to show up on screens within the real America. The trickster author should have kept this incredulous tale back in his home in England. It would have been easier to understand that way and hopefully much less of a mess than the way this movie turned out…
