Damn…..I trust The Playlist far more than any other outlet in existence but wow. I had nothing but high hopes from one of the funnest scripts I\’ve ever read and the actors involved. I thought this one was money in the bank. I\’ll still peep it out to see what Kendrick and Rockwell do with it.

Why does Max Landis continue to get work? He\’s a no-talent hack who would be nowhere without his last name. This sounds like an idea he had for American Ultra, and went in a different direction with it. AU flopped hard, this will, too. No one in Hollywood can complain about the lack of original scripts if they continue to employ jerks like Max Landis. He never had an original thought in his life. @Dylan is right, TIFF was really weak this year, they accepted a lot of junk.

uhh, did u see the overall narrative coming out from Toronto? A really, really weak year. Not just these guys saying that. Look around (also he Loved the Belllochi, Sunset Song, Evolution and a few other things)

I can\’t remember reading a review by this guy that was positive in any way.
Not saying its not warranted in this case, but man does it ever bum me out constantly seeing "D" and "C-" reviews on this site
