Great review, but one small note- Kevin's use of the snap-zoom technique is his nod to Kubrick's use of it in THE SHINING, not Tarantino's.

Ido really look forward to this film, in my opinion has not something similar been produced for wide screed since early 80:ies, The Oddity and the unexpectedly that are wowen in with fantasy / macabre action or meanings. This is a film for people who like to get a "brain kick" and not just laugh out load even if you do it at the same time. I have great expectations as well for upcoming film Yoga Hoser by Kevin Smith.

i think this is a bit harsh. smith has made great movies in the past. however, i completely agree. clerks 3 (if it happens) should have a fresh, innovative feel.

At best it looks like it's going to be pretty much like Red State: not to bad… but nothing outstanding aside from the "What a weird Kevin Smith movie!" effect. And in the end not an especially great movie on it's own.

I mean Red State was all about Kevin Smith reinventing himself alright. But as a genre movie it blatantly used all the worn out stuff used by mainstream horror flicks from the last decade or so.

On the other hand I really look forward to see how Clerks III will turn out after all the experience Smith has now acquired as a proper director.
