Quite an incisive, comprehensive review ahead of all the later buzz that tended circle the same themes and flaws, at expense of others. For pulpy fun this is soul-hurting stuff. Socialist uprising in honor of the Rick character, anyone? 😛

Like a jalapeno pretzel this movie starts out plain, but good, then the pepper kicks in and you need fluids. The tension built from nothing to 10/10. I really, really enjoyed it. Jake Gyllenhaal is aging like a fine wine & I\’m drunk on a magnum (or a newer Dodge). Zodiac, Prisoners & now, Nightcrawlers. He may be the next Bobby D.

Gyllenhaal's a top tier actor, it doesn't surprise me the reviews he's been receiving. Lets hope he never gets enticed back into the Hollywood machinations!!

Sounds like a good movie. I have always liked Rene Russo & have felt that her recent roles weren't worthy of her talent, Thor springs to mind so I like that she has a good meaty role in this.

Michael Clayton is indeed a fine film but it was made by Tony Gilroy, not Dan Gilroy the author of Nightcrawler.
