Saw &#034;Amigo&#034; at TIFF - a must since I&#039;m Filipina &#038; island-born.  &#034;Amigo&#034; might be the 1st film about the Philippine-American War.  While today&#039;s critics/viewers might see the Iraq/Afghanistan connection, those of us who long fought to get U.S. dominance out of the Philippines called the Philippine-American War the &#034;first Vietnam.&#034;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In fact, in my birthplace Samar, all Filipino males 10 years old &#038; over were ordered massacred.  Mark Twain &#038; the Anti-Imperialist League of that time had pithy things to say too.]]></description>
