Although I commend Guggenheim for keeping creative control for his film; and I appreciate the talent he and his crew have; I was really disappointed. My thoughts mirror Kevin's (author) exactly. My take: You can learn more about the album and what the band was going through at that time, by reading U2 by U2.

Saw the movie last night. It is disappoiting. It only gets going in the last 20 mins when they crank up the DAT tapes and you get to see (via a timer on screen) how quickly One was born.. Fascinating. Prior to that it was a lot of boring chatter about how they got there and trying to justify (again) Rattle & HUm. Interesting but not as interesting as the birth of AB itself. What a lost opportunity.

It\'s disappointing to hear that it doesn\'t delve too far into the creative process as that\'s what the band and Guggenheim talked up a lot during the editing process, I can only guess that they didn\'t want to waste the opportunity to look at the album in it\'s wider context. Here\'s hoping there\'s a lot more footage on the DVD, hopefully packaged with the rerelease.

To nitpick, while AB is one of the biggest selling rock albums, and one of this band\'s biggest, the Joshua Tree had already very much launched them into super-stardom. That\'s what makes this bold reinvention gambit, and it\'s eventual huge payoff so interesting. JT sold 12 million copies in the US alone and the band set off to create an album likened unto \'the sound of four men chopping down the Joshua Tree\', rather than lean on that already iconic alternative cathedral of sound for more easy radio success. Oh and AB sold 8 million copies in the US as of 97, so it\'s probably close to diamond at this point.

Sounds like another disappointment in the style of last year\'s Doors documentary \"When You\'re Strange,\" another film about a classic band which offers nothing fans don\'t already know and little to no serious look into the music.

From an album that gaves us setlist comprising of the bulk of this years record setting 360 tour final leg, I sure hope someone in U2\'s camp will give \"Achtung Baby\" the limelight it deserves. Great songs have a life of their own and I thank this author in the review for pointing out to core U2 fans that \'Zooropa\' deserves mention. I still recall that hot day in June in Baltimore hearing this song, blown away that U2 would dust off this gem drop the telescoping video screen and let the song\'s power sway the crowds. I welcome \' From the sky down\' for it has a place as to begin to unravel U2\'s firm grip as the greatest rock and roll band of the world just hoping there are deeper documentaries to come!
