I couldn\'t understand why Loki didn\'t crack wise, conspire, seduce, maim or even grin during the film\'s first half. He didn\'t even have a brotherly repartee with Thor. There was a tossed away line from one of the Warriors about his mischievous nature, but damned if the film had any designs on showing it. Not the portrayal I would have expected, even if, like you say, Hiddleston was excellent in it.

Good job on this, even if I don\'t agree with everything.

I do agree with the first 30 minutes being listed as \"bad.\" I felt like I was watching Alexander all over again with Anthony Hopkins babbling on and on while we are subject to glimpses of wars etc. that we have no frame of reference to. Not knowing anything about Thor or his backstory, I spent the first 20 minutes asking a friend what the hell was Anthony Hopkins talking about and why do we care about ice giants.

Now I don\'t agree with the annoying Kat Dennings performance being listed as \"good.\" She played the same sarcastic character she always plays, and basically got on my nerves from the get go. Instead, you should\'ve listed Tom Hiddleston\'s performance because even though I can live with the divided charcter of Loki being in the \"ugly\" section, I thought Hiddleston was the best thing in the movie. I\'m kinda glad they\'ve chosen him to return in The Avengers.

Kevin wrote this, but he included a lot of our thoughts in input. The team was torn on it. Katie and Jessica (our editors) seemed to like it, Drew said he woulda given it a B (the review is a B-) and I thought it was totally meh (not bad, but utterly forgettable C). So he basically just took all our thoughts about what worked and what didn\'t into a piece. It doesn\'t necessarily represent all of his thoughts. And I think he liked it more than I did too (i had very little overly positive to contribute to this). FYI.

You know, although the love story could have been executed better, I still found it fascinating to watch as there\'s a whole level to it you guys seemed to have missed: Thor isn\'t just a hot guy with superpowers that Jane has a little-girl crush on, he\'s a supernatural being who completely alters the way she, a scientist, thinks about her universe. The attraction is much more than superficial, she\'s essentially making out with the scientific find of the century, which I found amusing and pretty interesting. also we all <3 Natalie so get over it

I have to (mostly) disagree about the romance. Yes, it could have used more screen time to develop, but I found it completely believable and very charming. Chris and Natalie had great chemistry, and the movie certainly leaves room for their love to be more consummated in a sequel.

But then again, I am a girl.

How was Loki that weak exactly? He killed plenty of Frost Giants on his own. He\'s not a brute like Thor is though. He\'s the God of Mischief, he uses manipulation and tricks. Hiddleston was great, by making him both sinister and sympathetic. The abrupt change is realizing he was never an equal in his father\'s eyes. The whole point was him trying to be Thor\'s equal (why he tried to pick up the hammer too). So if he destroyed the whole planet of Jotunheim, he would get rid of that part of himself.

Most of these things are nitpicks really. Like Hawkeye: if that were just a no-name soldier would you have had the complaint? Obviously we know his role in SHIELD, so it was just cool to see him. People complain when there\'s too many Avengers threads, but when they don\'t go that route they complain about it too.

The romance was fine, and they had great chemistry.

The action was very good. Loki-Thor\'s fight was perfectly coherent and the colors in it were magnificent. How can people complain about it, when most action these days is zoomed in shaky cam?

Asgard was the best part of the film, and is widely cited as such. Let\'s compare it to Phantom Menace. That\'s cool and topical jab.

The after credits scene is exactly that: after the movie. It has no bearing on what just happened, but what will. It\'s just a teaser for fans. If Loki showed up in the next movie no one would say anything, but because it\'s in an after credit scene it\'s a negative?

Loosen up.
