I think that if Harvey snatches "Lowlife" he will try to make Joaquin Phoenix a double nominee, leading here and supporting for "The Master".

Don't forget the cast of "Quartet" 🙂 it has Maggie Smith; hence on the Oscar actress side of things, he would have her + Marion, should he acquire the rights for "Lowlife".

While the Weinstein Co. are gold at campaigning for Oscars, I'm worried that having too many fantastic-sounding Oscar bait movies on their slate (The Master, Lawless, Killing Them Softly, the Silver Linings Playbooks, Django Unchained, Inside Llewyn Davis) means that some won't get the Oscar campaign and thus any of the attention they deserve. This happened with Blue Valentine in 2010 and A Single Man in 2009 where all the focus were diverted to the King's Speech and Basterds. I only hope that The Master won't be jettisoned

I'm starting to worry that the Weinstein Co's expanding slate of fantastic-sounding movies this year means that some really good movies are going to fly under the radar and won't get the Oscar attention (Oscar campaign) they deserve.
