Boyhood, had Aaliyah\’s try again in it. Which to me was kind of off. But I liked it. Life doesn\’t always have a plot, you just kind of live and experience things. I can\’t think that was kind of the point of it all.

Interstellar was courageous? How? By simplifying huge issues to just love? Every faking blockbuster does that. That\’s one of the reasons everyone found Avengers so refreshing. The review you cite is spot on. Kubrick would have never let himself to spout the idiocy that are Interstellar dialogues. Much less start explaining time and space by doodling to a piece of paper as if every single person watching was a five year old. Although looking at the imdb rating it seems like most of them were.
Not an awful film, but hugely overrated. These two last film Nolan seem to be just taking a piss. No need to not be cheesy, to follow some logic, to not start simplifying every damn aspect anymore. Nobody notices anyway.

First there was that stupid movie criticism over Interstellar and now everybody’s like:
"OMG Marvel is the best thing in history of things.” You’re going to be sick of it even before the last Avengers movie comes out.

Interstellar was worth watching, but not underrated. "Intelligent blockbuster filmmaking"? It made no real attempt to explain the science behind the plot (instead trusting that its audience couldn\’t comprehend) and did not stick to its own rules. Also, the motivations of several characters made no sense and completely took me out of the story. I\’m glad I watched it and will watch it again, but it was one of the most frustrating movie experiences. It was good, but it could have been phenomenal. I\’m with you guys on Gone Girl though! Likewise with The Imitation Game.

Pride is my favorite film of the year, and I can\’t believe it isn\’t being talked about more. The film is full of great performances and overall it\’s a powerful, emotional, funny, and well-written film.

As much as I did enjoy The Raid 2, so much of it paled in comparison to the first (the action sequences getting spread out as if they were ripped from a video game like Sleeping Dogs or Batman: Arkham Asylum is but one of the complaints I have with it personally). If anything, it\’s slightly deserving to be in someone\’s overrated column.
