Hard to imagine the guy who lensed No Country For Old Men and The Assassination of Jesse James in the same year still doesn\’t have an Academy Award.

Not in a million years. I saw it on the big screen… and 15% of the film had sloppy focus. Incredibly distracting. It was like the focus puller had no experience whatsoever.

THE KING\’S SPEECH doesn\’t really deserve this nomination either, as the super-wide lensing was distracting. The entire film was shot on 2, maybe 3 lenses. Bizarre framing of close-ups was interesting, I guess.
