i hear you, DN. i was cynical from the start, though, and did not expect much other than a blockbuster sandwich with lots of cheese. the film had six writers.
I thought it was an enjoyable film. the biggest problem for me was the Indominus Rex - the fun of the Jurassic Park films are seeing dinosaurs that actually existed running around (and eating people). Creating a dinosaur that never existed, though fine within the movie\'s premise, seemed like a wasted opportunity.

I don\'t know, I think you guys are stretching it with the set-ups critique. The fact that Owen says the line about the crane did not make me anticipate a big crane-based third act plot point, nor was I disappointed when the crane did not make a return, lol. Also I wasn\'t really bothered by the lack of characterization in the romance. Yeah it was cheesy and cliche, but this was never going to be Blue is the Warmest Color anyways (though I guess there IS a raptor named Blue, and thermal heating sensing is a part of the story. Hmm... Maybe a lesbian raptor coming of age story for the sequel?). I also kind of prefer the old fashioned-ness of it too over something quirky or cutesy, which I feel like there is always risk of if you\'re trying to stuff romance into an already stuffed story

You covered just about everything and although I think the military subplot deserves to be in the bad for the simple reason that it\'s stupid and would never happen, I think Vincent D should be in the good. I mean comon, he\'s the closest thing to a scenery chewing side character that this film has. And it\'s not over the top in a Gary Oldman from the Fifth Element way either. I also would\'ve mentioned pacing as a positive for the film while one could argue the stupidity of it all all day long. For instance, they say the tracker will electrocute the Irex if it gets close to a perimeter. Well why the hell not have that ability to activate the electricity manually just in case like maybe it escapes huh? And the helicopter with the Gatling gun would\'ve destroyed the Dino in 5 seconds which is why I guess after that one crashes, they never use another one.

Also, I can go ahead and believe that the Irex is smart enough to see that people are observing him therefore he tries to make them think he escaped but to know that they observe him using thermal sensors therefore he has to change his body temp. Please. Otherwise it\'s all a big coincidence that he changed his temp at the exact time he planned for them to think he escaped. And that would also meant he never changed his temp before during his whole life while people were watching. Also, why the hell would you put so much vegetation in his enclosure you can see shit?!?

Of all the things to complain about - she wore heels to work, she\'s stuck in heels.
FAULKNER, I rise my hand!. If this was a new film and not a franchise, I wouldn\'t mine to write if I liked or not. I would be thinking, well, I wasn\'t expecting too much or I would be very impressed, as for example with Mad Max 4. I just think that it is just a waste of opportunity, instead of making something memorable and deep, they just made another pointless movie just to enjoy in a DBOX seat, as for example San Andreas; and I don\'t mind those kind of films, I really enjoy them sometimes, but come on, it is Jurassic Park! For me this felt like the disappointment of EPISODE 1 from the Star Wars saga. I guess I would have to wait 30 years for someone like JJ Abrams makes something pretty good. I guess I took it too personal because Jurassic Park makes part of my childhood. And now when TV is so great and even when a superhero film could be considered for an academy award, I don\'t understand why they made something so cheap and easy. I know writers and producers can do better. Monsters films lately have been quiet good as Monsters, Cloverfield, Pacific RIM, and the new Godzilla. I know those are not dinosaurs but despite of being monsters stories they have created good characters and plots around those.

I thought I liked this movie a lot the first time I watched it, but I\'ve seen it about 3 times now, and the plot holes are becoming more evident. Why would there be a ride (that ball thing) that the guests could control and drive for as long as they wanted? The line for that thing would be ridiculously horrible....even if there were 50 pods. Also, why do they make such a point of pointing out that the Indominus rex is white? Throughout the movie he looks like CG Gray just like everything else...pointless. Plus, I don\'t feel like I ever fully understood how or why another dinosaur park was built. Especially on the original island! Can you imagine being on the team tasked out to set that up?! Oh, btw, there may or may not be some loose raptors and t-rexes roaming around. Another thing, why is Ingen still the \'bad guy\' after all these years? I saw in a trailer a clip where they showed the shaving cream can that went into the mud in the original movie. I always felt that scene could have produced a sequal, or at least an afterthought. Why use it in the trailer if it never mattered in the first place? I know my thoughts are all over the place, but this movie bugs me. The original movie is a million times better than this garbage. It\'s 20+ years later. Why do the dinos look the same? Ok, one more thing....that plesiosaur or whatever it is....it shouldn\'t have eaten the babysitter. it ruined the climax where it ate the indominus because we had already seen it 20 minutes earlier. Ok, that\'s my 2 cents. Keep the change ;)

Terrible! The character of Bryce Dallas Howard killed the film, on top of an already odious, soulless corporate dreck! Gawd awful! It should\'ve said angry emoticon! Well you\'re probably reading this after seeing JW - I have one word for it - \'nauseating\' - truly a soulless and odious pile of corporate dreck! The uptight red headed female lead played by Bryce Dallas Howard absolutely ruined it for me, She had absolutely no chemistry with Chris Pratt or any other characters at all, and that last line of the film where they kiss and walk off was truly projectile vomit inducing! Ugh!! She needs to quit being an actress! (Oh yeah, she\'s the daughter of someone who does have talent... Ron Howard!) - Daddy\'s little girl wants to be in films eh, pathetic! - Chris Pratt was the only good thing about this film - everything else was a complete letdown, script and story - effects - everything - and all just so stale!! - No imagination, spirit or warmth - the most committee and suit produced film I have ever seen down to every detail...

I was groaning out loud in the cinema and squirming in my seat, that\'s how bad it was for me. You can tell the director was trying his best to pay homage to the Spielbergian-esque elements of the first JP - but he failed on every attempt! I felt no emotional connection to any of the characters, or dinosaurs! And the 3D was shocking!! I\'m still not sure if it was a dodgy projector at Knox, but during any motion and especially panning... it was so blurry! When the scene was still, perfect! -

How this is the biggest weekend grossing debut film of all time is mind-boggling!!

This goes on my list with Horrible Bosses 2 and Inbetweeners 2 - as 3 of the truly worst films I have seen in the past year.

What an awful movie. I don’t know where to begin. Only Pratt and Howard could seem to bring the C work script and make it serviceable because of their acting talent. Colin Trevorrow what a hack. The studio never should have given this inexperienced director whose previous picture was half million dollar comedy. He should study Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park and James Cameron’s Aliens to understand how to build tension and direct action. The movie had serious pacing issues and boredom would set in half way through every short and poorly staged action scene. The writing was awful garbage with stupid plot twist after stupid plot twist. The ending was underwhelming and stupid. I pretty sure a T-Rex wouldn’t form an alliance with a raptor and nod after a dinosaur boxing match. Stupid! The Pterodactyl scenes were poorly done ending with a cruel and needless death scene of an innocent and defenseless woman meeting a horrible demise. When I comparing the Pterodactyl scenes to Jurassic Park 3, there is simply no comparison, which is especially bad when comparing them to a movie made in 2001. In fact, every Jurassic Park movie is significantly better than this awful movie. I would rank this far below Jurassic Park 2. Hopefully on the next movie, the studio can hire a better director (I hear he’s not coming back) and better writers who don’t completely suck at constructing actions scenes and writing dialogue.

It wasn\'t a terrible movie. The visual aspect of the movie is great (thank God for the 1080 million dollar budget), but the direction lacked suspense and the script didn\'t even have a scary or intruiging plot. They had all the toys to make an awsome movie but played it too save and by the numbers. Sure it will make Michael Bay blockbuster dollars, but in a few months nobody will remember this.
