It\'s daft to talk about implausibilities in a franchise fusing real life with alien gods, but lazy things like this stick out like a sore thumb and insult our intelligence:

i) When the Avengers arrive at the Barton\'s barn, battle-worn and not expecting an overnighter, within five minutes, Cap and Stark both have perfect-fitting country bumpkin clothes. Don\'t tell me they just raided Hawkeye\'s wardrobe: those jeans on Chris Evans are a perfect fit.

ii) At the end, Nick Fury arrives just in the nick of time from the other side of the world and - would you believe it? - has exactly the thing they need to save the captives of a floating chunk of earth that only took off a few minutes before, and surely long, long after Fury left home. Flying lifeboats! Loads of \'em. How handy.

Wow. America created all those Islamist terrorist groups by her actions? Someone\'s been drinking too much Progressive kool-aid.
Gee, there\'s a lot to talk about, ain\'t there?

I liked the Hulkbuster sequence, although I would\'ve preferred seeing at least one innocent civilian die or be maimed - somehow Hulk & Iron Man managed to not kill anyone with that battle. Am I a little morbid for this? Eek... I just realised this counters your point on \'Post Man of Steel\', oh well.

You\'re right about the finale, which seemed to drag on a bit much, even as an avid fan my eyes started to glaze over, so I hate to imagine what general audiences will feel like...

Claudia Kim was used as an excuse to go Korea, and probably was part of a deal as Korea gave excellent tax rebates. Sure she could\'ve been a more fleshed out character, but that would another 5-10 minutes to a long film - perhaps the extended cut will deal with that.

This universe needs a female character with superpowers, then they\'ll start getting truly noticed. Thankfully, Scarlet is here but without a solo film, we won\'t being seeing her til Avengers 3. Black Widow is too human, I feel.

I don\'t think you can avoid the 9/11 imagery, any urban destruction is classified under this, and unless we have battles all over the countryside, it\'s unavoidable. I suppose you can do battles at sea, air, cliff-faces etc, but these will inevitably get the same \'this is in every film ever\' treatment, rightly or wrongly.

I guess an extended cut will deal with the charactersiation issues, but would a 3 1/2 hour cut be worth it? Probably not for general audiences, but I for one can\'t get enough Avengers!

The main problem I have that wasn\'t covered was the complete lovey-dovey ending between Cap and Stark, there should be at least a tinge of animosity between the two in setting-up Civil War, thus it won\'t feel rushed once that film comes out.

@Cromby - Vision is the manifestation of JARVIS, who\'s a good guy. He wasn\'t quite powerful enough as he needed Iron Man and Thor to destroy Big Ultron, but yes, he\'s pretty strong. I suppose it\'s personal taste but I like having obvious makeup on a real person, rather than another CGI fest like Hulk.

@Dave - the last one

Your repetitive assumption that filmmakers are actively trying to invoke 9/11 with this "imagery" is beyond idiotic. Perhaps building collapses in movies keep looking the same because THAT\'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GIANT BUILDINGS COLLAPSE! Blame Hollywood for its lack of creativity in constantly leveling cities in these movies, not the physical result of a large building collapsing.

Re: 9/11 imagery. I think this is an unfair criticism. You\'re suggesting that action movies about gigantic battles between superpowered combatants should never cause a building to fall down? And if a building does come down, you shouldn\'t show anyone near debris? How exactly would that work? I\'m a lifelong New Yorker, and you\'re being oversensitive.
