So excited about this movie for the "X-Babies" (as Kitty Pryde called them)… as a geeky teenage boy, I was "in love" with most of the female characters. Who needs to be in it… 1) DANIELLE/MIRAGE, the Native American warrior and "thought projector"; 2) RAHNE/WOLFSBANE, the "wee Scottish lass" who struggled with her feral wolf-nature as well as growing up; 3) SAM/CANNONBALL, a Kentucky boy able to become a human rocket; 4) and my favorite, ILYANA/MAGIK, sister of Colossus, able to use interdimensional disks to teleport and to summon a "soul sword," that eventually takes over her body. However, one of their best storylines has already been re-appropriated with the use of LEGION (or someone a lot like him) in X2.
