Michael Fassbender was one of the most memorable things about Steve Jobs. He may not have resembled the man (but after witnessing Ashton Kutcher who honestly really cared at that point?), but instead Fassbender gave a brilliant performance instead. The Steve Jobs the world knows is NOT the Steve Jobs being portrayed in the film. THIS Steve Jobs was the one backstage not afraid of showing his true colors. And with that said, Michael Fassbender was perfect.

I for one am glad Michael Fassbender didn\’t try to imitate Steve Jobs with a ridiculous voice impersonation or makeup job. It was refreshing. What Fassbender nailed was what makes a controversial character interesting, sympathetic, and engaging. His mannerisms were perfectly nailed and the WAY he spoke perfectly captured Steve Jobs. He didn\’t have to resemble the man for us to be invested in the character (fictional or not).

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Leonardo DiCaprio, but I think that if everything is fair and Art is the most important thing, this year the Oscar should go to Fassbender. He made something really special, something magical with that role. Unfortunately I don’t believe that everything is fair or that art is the most important thing to the Academy.
