Bad list. And let\’s be honest, we won\’t remember most of these films and its musical output in a month or so. There are very few remarkable scores and soundtracks out this year (films, too), I\’m always puzzled why we don\’t simply acknowledge the fact. It\’d be refreshing.

This is a great list. Not indie by any means as the above fan of Jurassic Park suggested. Morricone is the least indie composer possible? And I have always felt Carter Burwell deserved much more recognition, he has a distinct sound and places the film first. Above all, I agree with your number one choice of Cat\’s Eyes: a truly remarkable score and anyone who listens to the extraordinary "Requiem" would have to agree.

Solid choices and a lot of this music is great to listen to and makes me want to watch these films so thanks for including it. Also agree with not including Fury Road, that soundtrack is the worst part of the movie.

Dear Josh. All reviews and opinions are subjective for every site, for every single person, critic, audience, etc. You can\’t put consensus against that. Enemy would have been my #1 or #2 movie of the year last year, but it wasn\’t voted in by the group. So what? That\’s just how consensus voting works. Why don\’t you just look at individual lists when the arrive?

And note, I gave Fury Road a B+ myself, personally and it\’s not going to be in my top 10, maybe not my to 20. Not because it\’s not good, but because it just doesn\’t mean that much to me ultimately on a personal level.

Quite a disappointing list actually. Seems like it wants to be indie and groundbreaking by forgetting the real task of the composer: engaging the audience in the story, something most of these choices don\’t do. My top five would be (before waching hateful and revenant): 1. Jupiter Ascending (the movie is terrible but the soundtrack does a lot with so little) 2. Carol 3. Steve Jobs 4. Bridge of Spies 5.Tomorrowland/Jurassic World

The "Other late December releases such as “Joy,” “The Revenant” and “The Hateful Eight,” have already been seen by at least one staffer, and may or may not be found below" is stupid, because we cant really use it for anything seriously.

Fury Road was watched by one person and it received a B(+?) rating, but it ended up at the top of 2015\’s best movies. Last Year "Enemy" got an A rating, but did not make the top list at all. so we cant really conclude anything from single reviews in regards to a general position with a whole team doing the votes.
