That’s strange. Some places I find say it’s 1991 but I see now that most say 1992. Just putting the title in Google shows October 1991 but IMDB and Wikipedia say 1992.

Story had a lot of great moments and a nice sincerity/cynicism dichotomy proving you don’t have to permanently settle on either side. Once Upon a Time in China is a fantastic transition moment in the kung fu genre — the brutality of the 70s villains with the expanded choreography of the 90s films.
