If you're interested in Badlands, there is a really really good book about it!
It's "La Balade Sauvage – Badland, by Ariane Gaudeaux".
Unfortunately it's in french.
But if you read french, it's really worth it!

I'd love for the longer cut to come out if only to see just how different the film becomes, but I kind of doubt it will, there's enough edited footage for The Thin Red Line to be around 6 hours long too but most of it never surfaced. New World got an extended cut b/c the theatrical one was actually cut down from its festival run, but then again the video released extended cut was a distinct 3rd version so who knows. Badlands though, definitely deserves a better video release.
