Indiewire, and more specifically The Playlist, has a hard on for Rooney Mara for some reason.
"explaining that when he took on “Carol”, Cate Blanchett was already attached, but Mara was his own idea—one that he’s now fiercely proud of."
No, Rooney Mara had already been offered the part and turned it down, even though she wanted to work with Blanchett, because she felt exhausted after Dragon Tattoo and a full year of work, and not confident about being able to play the part. When Haynes came on a couple of years later, after Mia Wasikowska dropped out, he approached her and according to her she was "in a much different head space" by then and easily accepted.

I agree because she\’s to young to be given a tribute. She needs to do more great thing like Meryl Streep has done and be older like 50s then a tribute would be necessary

When I saw this popped into my email, I swear I thought she died. I was it "Oh my God! Rooney Mara\’s dead?". Thankfully its just a misleading article. Phew!
