Hateful is a strong word, but I mostly don't disagree with you. He undermines himself a lot, but I honestly believe dude is pure at heart. He's fucking blue collar through and through. I love meeting Yankees that i think could be honorary hosers, he's one.

What bothers me about Moore is that, even considering the intellectual bankruptcy of his targets, he will cut his hand off before he decides to reach over to the other side of the pews. For all his smarts and good intentions, he is a smarmy, hateful filmmaker. We need his films, but we shouldn't.

I find Michael Moore’s documentaries entertaining, but I think the man himself has a pretty obnoxious personality. So, this trailer doesn’t fill me with any kind of excitement for “The New Movie.” I think I’ll just have to wait until some real footage pops up before I decide how interested I am in this.

I just watched the Canadian doc about Moore, "Manufacturing Dissent," and highly recommend it. Not exactly the most flattering portrait, but definitely fair and well-rounded.
