If a macho former hockey player can be as convincing as he was playing a gay man in \’80s New York City (The Normal Heart), I\’d say this actor can do just about anything.

Taylor Kitsch has given us some of the most intensely powerful moments in his performances of any actor of his generation. The heroic self-sacrificing scene before he climbs the hill to make the sat phone call and is killed in Lone Survivor, his unforgettably soulful expression photographing the child being stalked by the vulture in South Africa in The Bang Bang Club, key moments in several gut-wrenching scenes in The Normal Heart. He draws you in, and makes you believe. I crave these moments in film and television and look for them in every actor and actress, but they are very rare. TK is one of the few young actors with that kind of talent. He\’ll be brilliant with Nic Pizzolatto\’s darkly intense material in True Detective. So looking forward to it.
