Directed by Tim Burton, the new “Dumbo” has an all-star cast, incredible special effects, and a secret weapon that is sure to please the ears of certain parental figures – Arcade Fire.

That’s right, the Grammy-winning band, Arcade Fire, is a major part of the “Dumbo” soundtrack, contributing a cover of the classic song “Baby Mine.” And because Disney knows that kids all over the world are aching to hear Arcade Fire’s version of the song, the studio released a music video.

If you’re walking around today and you think you’re hearing more Arcade Fire music coming out of cars, radios and hipster stores than usual, it might just be because their newest, highly-anticipated album The Suburbs hit music retailers today. On a trajectory to become one of the biggest bands in the world (if they aren’t already) the band has attracted a unique set of collaborators to help promote their latest effort. As we recently reported, Terry Gilliam is set to direct a webcast of the band’s forthcoming concert at Madison Square Garden, and earlier in the year, it was revealed that Spike Jonze was working on a secretive project with the band.

“I don’t know what this thing is, exactly, but I know it’s what I wanted,” [pauses] “Be careful what you wish for!” – While worrying aloud that his Batman “Dark Knight” film is going to be too dark, grim and gritty, director Chris Nolan excites us with the prospect of a Hollywood tentpole film that might actually be as brutal as the graphic novels. [Wired]

“I had some idea that I was going to use those kind of hip-hop tracks, to use things like Nas and Biggie and Jay Z and things of that ilk, like Fat Joe, but a lot of that was in the cutting room, just playing around and see what worked.
