Marlon Wayans and the entire Wayans clan have always made films that push the limits of what is considered “decent” to get a laugh. Well before their time on “In Living Color,” Keenan Ivory Wayans was shocking people with the cult classic comedy, “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” And of course, years later, Shawn and Marlon Wayans continued to push the boundaries with “White Chicks,” a film that many point to as an example of a hit feature that has not really held up over the years due to its misogynistic and racial humor.

‘Swiss Army Man’ Directors The Daniels Talk Finding Beauty In The Scatalogical, Next Projects, And More

While “Swiss Army Man” left the Sundance Film Festival, where it premiered earlier this year, known as “that farting corpse movie,” that’s not quite accurate. The film is about the universal human experience of defecation, and examines the cultural norms that cow people into hiding pieces of their identity out of shame. That’s still not an easy sell, but if you skipped the film based on its premise, you missed out.

‘Swiss Army Man’ Directors Say They Want To Remake ‘White Chicks’ As An Oscar-Bait Drama

Somewhat unexpectedly, Sundance drama/adventure thing “Swiss Army Man” proved to be something of an overperformer this weekend. With wildly divided reviews out of Sundance, and the premise of being a buddy movie with Paul Dano as a suicidal stalker and Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse with a boner-compass, it seemed like it would be a bit of a box office washout.

But A24 appear to have worked something of a miracle, with the film outperforming other arthouse releases significantly and ending up with one of the best theater averages of 2016 to date.

Judd Apatow Talks ‘Ghostbusters 3,’ Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt And Jonah Hill Join ‘Oobermind,’ First Footage From ‘The Expendables’

Might Judd Apatow have enjoyed seeing his name linked to “Ghostbusters 3” enough to now want the job? In response to a question about his potential involvement on the third film on Australian talk show, “Rove Live,” Apatow simply responded “no, that is not true. Although, if they would like to hire me, I’m available.” Not exactly an expression of interest but nor is it the writer/director shunning the project which is a mild surprise, especially after the persistent rumors linking him to a producer’s role which he has already come out and debunked himself.
