UPDATE: Per final figures, “Joker” has earned $96 million domestically in its opening weekend, meaning that the “what if” scenario described below did actually occur. These are wild times.

So the “Love Me Sexy” video from the basketball comedy “Semi-Pro” actually works twofold: it acts as an obvious viral promotional tool and it actually reveals some of the film’s plot (not to mention teases the soundtrack, see below).

Set in 1976 Will Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who apparently used the profits from his chart-topping success “Love Me Sexy” to leverage his dream of owning a basketball team.
