Marvel’s latest live-action show, “Agatha All Along,” is right around the corner and will premiere September 18 on Disney+. The series is, of course, a spin-off of Marvel’s “WandaVision” and was also created by the same showrunner, Jac Schaeffer.

Of course, the show initially had four different titles: “The Darkhold Diaries,” “Coven Of Chaos,” and more.

When “WandaVision” debuted a couple of years ago, the series not only served as the first TV show from Marvel Studios, but it also gave the studio a chance to try something very different, specifically with the style. Most of the episodes were homages to classic TV, down to different theme songs with each new era. Those songs, along with the “Agatha All Along” moment, are probably some of the most memorable aspects of that show (or any MCU series, to date, for that matter).

Marvel Studios continues to pump out a multitude of content for Disney+ as the streaming service has thrived thanks partly to the superhero originals alongside the “Star Wars” shows from Lucasfilm. While projects like a “Black Panther” spinoff series and a show focused on Avengers member “Wonder Man” are being developed, there’s still much more to come.

Paul Bettany is now expected to reprise the role of Vision one more time as Deadline has revealed that Marvel Studios is developing a “WandaVision” spinoff series titled “Vision Quest” from Jac Schaeffer, the head writer of “WandaVision” and Kathryn Hahn’s “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.”

Hopefully, the series will fill in some blanks and potentially see White Vision attempt to become his former self as Wanda’s fabricated version ceased to exist when she removed her hex at the end of “WandaVision.”

After the success of “Godzilla vs. Kong,” released during the pandemic, the Monsterverse continues to chug along. Warner Bros. recently announced it’s moving forward with director Adam Wingard’s “Godzilla vs. Kong 2,” which just added British actor Dan Stevens (“The Guest”) in a mystery role and will begin filming later this year in Australia.

While we’re awaiting news for solo Monsterverse films, Legendary announced a live-action “Godzilla” series earlier this year, and it’s now added a high-profile director.

When Disney scored the rights to the “Alien” property after acquiring 21st Century Fox, many fans wondered what the company would do with the R-rated sci-fi horror franchise. Launched in 1979, the Ridley Scott-directed original film starred Sigourney Weaver as the badass Ellen Ripley. Since then, a new prequel series at FX led by creative hot-shot Noah Hawley (“Legion,” “Fargo“) and executive produced by Scott was announced.

The USC Libraries announced the nominees for the 34th USC Scripter Awards this morning and it was perhaps the most genre-based group of honorees ever. “Dune,” “Station Eleven” and “WandaVision” earned nominations in both the film and television categories. The Scripter is given to the best adapted screenplays in said fields and, unlike other awards, honors the author of the original material as well.

Somewhat of a precursor to the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar, this year’s other film nominees are “The Lost Daughter,” “Passing,” “The Power of the Dog” and “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” The rest of the recognized television projects are “Dopesick,” “Maid,” and “The Underground Railroad.”

The Libraries also announced that Barry Jenkins will receive the USC Libraries Literary Achievement Award for his contributions to cinematic storytelling, including his work adapting the 2017 Scripter winner “Moonlight” and the 2019 finalist “If Beale Street Could Talk.”

It should be noted that only English-language adaptations are eligible for the Scripter.
