“Vikings” is a show that I hear is really good and has been recommended by a lot of people, but has never been anything I’ve been tempted to watch. Well, apparently, I’m in the minority, as the historical action drama is popular enough that Netflix has decided to finance a sequel series, “Vikings: Valhalla.”

As the teaser shows, “Vikings: Valhalla” is set more than 100 years after the original series and follows the journey of legendary explorer Leif Eriksson as the clash between the Vikings and the English Royals comes to a head.

Disney Plus not only took its first Emmy Awards on the third night of virtual Creative Arts Emmys ceremonies but five altogether. The trophies went to “The Mandalorian” in the Cinematography (Single Camera, Half-Hour), Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Production Design (Narrative, Half-Hour) and Special Visual Effects. A key drama series win, however, went to “Succession” which won single picture editing honor over multiple episodes of its own as well as those from “Ozark” and the aforementioned “Mandalorian.” Notable as all three programs are up for Outstanding Drama Series on Sunday night.
