The upcoming wedding dramedy, “Ceremony” starring Uma Thurman, Lee Pace (“Pushing Daisies”), Michael Angarano, Reece Thompson and Jake M. Johnson (“Paper Heart”) will boast a score by Fruitbats singer/songwriter and occasional Shins member Eric D. Johnson.
The film — full synopsis here — will evidently boast many musical riches, as sources close to the project tell us that legendary Beach Boys arranger/collaborator Van Dyke Parks has written additional music for the film as well.

Long Awaited Doc ‘Who is Harry Nilsson (And Why is Everybody Talkin’ About Him)?’ Finally Picked Up By Lorber Films

Premiering way back in 2006 at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and then dropping off the map, “Who is Harry Nilsson (and Why is Everybody Talkin’ About Him)?” is a music documentary we’ve long been anticipating and now we’ll finally get to see it. The film has finally been acquired, with Lorber Films picking up the rights to the film.

Directed by John Scheinfeld, the film provides the overview of the immensely talented and still undersung singer/songwriter.

‘Walk Hard’ Soundtrack Hits December 4; No Box of Cox?

Yee haw! It’s not Cox if he says it doesn’t taste like Cox. The soundtrack to “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story ” is coming out December 4.

According to music supervisor and composer Mike Andrews (“Donnie Darko,” “Me & You & Everyone We Know,“) – who we spoke to a few weeks back – John C.Reilly sings on all the songs on the album and the full list of songwriters who contributed songs include Dan Bern and Candy Butchers frontman Mike Viola, renowned Beach Boys Smile-era lyricist, producer/musician Van Dyke Parks, Marshall Crenshaw, Antonio Ortiz, and L.A.

The poster for Judd Apatow‘s “Walk Hard: The Story Of Dewey Cox” was recently revealed and you’ll remember that we noticed that musician/composer Michael Andrews (“Donnie Darko,” “Me & You & Everyone We Know,“) was composing the music for the rock biopic satire (the connection? Andrews scored ‘Hard’ director Jake Kasdan’s first feature, “The Zero Effect,” and did some music for Apatow’s “Freaks & Geeks“).

Well we decided to reach out to Andrews and ask a few questions about the film that stars John C.
