Ivan Reitman’s 1988 comedy, “Twins,” is seen by many to be a classic. This was at a time when Arnold Schwarzenegger was just at his peak, and he was playing opposite Danny DeVito as actual twins. The jokes write themselves. For years after that film, the idea of a sequel, “Triplets,” had been discussed and developed, but decades later, nothing came to be.

One of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s first entries into comedy, the 1988 film “Twins” is odd. After mainly being known as an action star,  Schwarzenegger took the plunge into comedy for this oddball couple film. It was the first time working with “Ghostbusters” director Ivan Reitman and comedic actor Danny DeVito and the trio would reunite for the less than stellar comedy “Junior.” However, Schwarzenegger would strike gold again when he worked with Reitman on “Kindergarten Cop.”

More than 30 years after the release of “Twins,” the long-gestating sequel is on the horizon, with “Triplets” finally moving forward with Reitman back as director alongside original co-stars Schwarzenegger and DeVito as Julius and Vincent Benedict returning.
