At one point, “Triple Threat” — which brings together the fighting talents of Tony Jaa (“Ong-Bak,” “The Protector“) and Iko Uwais (“The Raid“) into one film — was promisingly going to be directed by “John Wick” co-helmer Chad Stahelski. Sadly, that didn’t happen, and instead, some guy named Jesse V.

The surprise success of “John Wick” certainly kicked open career doors for stunt coordinators turned directors, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. While the latter is sticking with the franchise, helming the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 2,” the former has used the heat he’s attained to direct the upcoming espionage flick, “The Coldest City.” But next for Stahelski is his first outing beyond “John Wick” with an action movie starring three big names in the martial arts world.
