Thanks to the ridiculous success of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” if you’re any sort of rock band worth your salt, you’re likely getting approached by Hollywood for the biopic treatment. And it appears that includes the legendary rock band, The Who.

According to Variety, the long-in-development biopic about The Who is finally getting off the ground, tentatively titled “The Real Me.” Much like “Bohemian Rhapsody” focused on the life and career of Freddie Mercury, while keeping the Queen story in the background, it appears “The Read Me” will focus on drummer Keith Moon.

Though it’s been seemingly a decade since he brought it up, unfunnyman, Mike Myers, who recently talked to MTV about getting ready to rape audiences with the unhilarity that will surely be “The Love Guru,” said he’s still up for playing the part of Keith Moon in the long-gestating biopic of the departed Who drummer /decathalon binge drinker, “See Me Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked for Your Pleasure.”

“I always loved Keith Moon, and I love the music of the Who.

“I saw that it was completely chaotic and confusing, I didn’t bother reading it, I read little bits and said, ‘yeah sure’.” Play an icon like Bob Dylan? Suuure, why not. Christian Bale says he didn’t bother reading Todd Haynes’ “I’m Not There” script in full when he signed on for the role. Now the press loves to make a mountain of this, but don’t forget he’s worked with the director before and likely has implicit faith in his work.

Atlanta trap muzik rapper T.I. has landed a role in the new Danny Glover movie, “Once Was Lost,” about the relationship between a senile jazz musician (Glover) and a money-hungry drug dealer (T.I., duh!) who end up taking a cross country drive from Mississippi to Harlem and becoming bff’s that learn and grow from one another! As we’ve noted before, T.I. tends to have trouble with English. Try and make sense of this next sentence if you can.

Our features on the music of Wes Anderson – and the music that doesn’t appear on the soundtrack CD – continues with 1998’s “Rushmore” (Yesterday we looked at “Bottle Rocket“).

Rushmore
Liner Notes: As you’ve likely read a trillion times by now Wes Anderson originally wanted to score Rushmore entirely to songs by the Kinks, but instead scored the film to a variety of British Invasion tunes including Unit 4+2, Chad & Jeremy, Creation, the Faces, plus early Rolling Stones and the Who.
