According to Deadline, the English-language remake of “The Raid” is moving ahead at Netflix with Patrick Hughes set to direct the film, while the original film’s director Gareth Evans will executive produce alongside Michael Bay.

It doesn’t appear we’ll ever get “The Raid 3.” After the first two films were hugely successful, filmmaker Gareth Evans walked away from doing a third film to focus on other projects, leaving the franchise future in doubt. The closest thing we’ve gotten to any sort of new ‘Raid’ projects is the American remake, but even that has now turned into its own thing.

But according to Evans, who spoke to Empire, the filmmaker did have an idea for a third film, although he admits that fans might not have been super happy with it.
