Do people even remember “The Hardy Boys” books? I mean, I know they’re still being published and generations of readers grew up reading the adventures of the brothers that investigate all sorts of craziness in their town, but does anyone who currently scrolls through TikTok for hours on end have any affection for “The Hardy Boys?” Well, Hulu sure hopes so.

As seen in the new trailer for “The Hardy Boys,” Hulu is taking a page out of the recent hit teen thriller series that populate streaming services and The CW and has made a new TV based on the iconic book series that began nearly 100 years ago.

‘The Hardy Men’ Project With Tom Cruise & Ben Stiller Not Dead Quite Yet…

For a brief moment, Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise were rumored to be circling “The Hardy Men,” a comedic take on the classic detective series for boys. At the time Tom Cruise was still reeling from a double whammy of dissing Brooke Shields and embarrassing himself on “Oprah”.

‘Men in Black’ Writer to Adapt ‘Hardy Boys’

The pinnacle, arguably*, of YA mysteries is the Hardy Boys series, written by a number of different authors under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon. Spanning hundreds of novels, teenage brothers Frank and Joe Hardy have solved mysteries over the past eighty years to the delight of millions of adolescents.

So, naturally, Ben Stiller is aiming to produce and co-star in an updated comic adaptation, entitled “The Hardy Men.” Tom Cruise is slated to round out the duo, and Shawn Levy (director of “The Pink Panther” and “Night at the Museum”) will helm the film and co-produce.
