International Trailer For ‘Green Zone’; A Small Improvement

Alrighty. So yesterday, the “Green Zone” trailer finally arrived, yes? Many, including us, were semi-disappointed. It looked like “Jason Bourne Saves Iraq”; the same kind of Paul Greengrass filmmaking we’re used to, Matt Damon doing his action-star thing, not a lot of anything new, really.

Well, here’s take two. Sort of. Collider points us to HeyYouGuys in the U.K., who found the international version of the trailer and it’s quite different. Collider also has the two new images you see here.

Trailer: Paul Greengrass’ ‘Green Zone,’ Finally

Finally. The trailer for Paul Greengrass’ “Green Zone” starring Matt Damon has finally arrived. This was one of our most anticipated films of 2009 until it was sadly bumped out of Oscar 2009 to the not-great release date of March 12, 2010.

Still, it’s Greengrass and Damon once again, and we read the Iraq-War-set thriller and were pretty intrigued so it’s high up on our list, but yes, there’s something about it that’s probably off enough to make Universal think this one is not an awards contender.

Update: ‘Bourne 4’ Update: Matt Damon Hasn’t Read Scripts; Might Shoot In “2 Years”?

Ok, here’s a small, but revealing little update on “Bourne 4.” Earlier in the week we alluded to some of the behind-the-scenes issues going on with “Bourne 4” right, and all of them seem to be studio-based according to an interview with Matt Damon, as he and director Paul Greengrass have their heads in different places.

To recap, there’s two scripts being written. One by George Nolfi (who co-wrote ‘Bourne 3’ and is currently busy working with Matt Damon on “The Adjustment Bureau“) is complete.

Universal Delays ‘The Wolfman’ Again, Has No Faith In ‘Green Zone’? Both Films Pushed Into 2010

Hoping to see Paul Greengrass’ Iraq War drama, “The Green Zone,” starring Matt Damon at one of the fall festivals, preferably the Toronto International Film Festival (as we hoped)? You’re unfortunately not going to get it. Universal is having a tough summer and potentially a bad year. After taking some risks with the bold, but uneven Michael Mann film, “Public Enemies,” and decidedly striking out with the thought-to-be sure-fire hit of Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno,” the studio has unveiled their revised upcoming slate and revealed that Joe Johnston’s “The Wolfman” has yet again been delayed while Paul Greengrass’ “Green Zone” won’t be hitting theaters until March of next year.
