Hey, “Star Wars” wouldn’t have survived “Batman and Robin” — the WB went out and made two more after that!

‘Magneto’ Origins Film Dependent On ‘Wolverine’s’ Success, ‘Constantine’ Sequel In The Works, First Look: Hit Girl From ‘Kick-Ass’

Producer Lauren Shuller Donner on a potential Magneto origins film: “[The film has] a fantastic script, and hopefully we’ll make it. I don’t know. I think [‘Wolverine’s’ box office performance] is partly to do with it, yes.” Donner then responded to a speculative question on a potential “Constantine” sequel: “Looks very good. Thinking about it. Looking for a writer.” [SciFi]

First it was gone, then it wasn’t, now it is being reported that the rights for “Sin City 2” are up for grabs again with Frank Miller’s people allegedly shopping the film around to other studios.

Zack Snyder: A Cough, “Visionary”? Has The ‘Watchmen’ Media Backlash Finally Begun?

Man, gotta hand it to the New York Times for this headline and image side by side: A Director of Two Films Is Suddenly a ‘Visionary’ by His Third? With Dr. Manhattan mouth agape in full outrage one can’t laugh at the delicious sarcasm of it all.

“Marketers at Warner Brothers may have set a new standard on stretching the truth by heaping an unusual amount of praise on the director of the forthcoming superhero film ‘Watchmen.’ Billboards for ‘Watchmen’ are causing some double takes in Hollywood because they call the director, Zack Snyder, a highly regarded but relatively inexperienced filmmaker, a ‘visionary director’ above the title of the film.”

Man, this piece is pretty biting.
