Andrew Garfield has hit many peaks (and valleys) in his career, from doing big, mega-blockbuster movies (“The Amazing Spider-Man“) to working with Martin Scorsese (“Silence“), but things didn’t always work out for the young actor. It seems at one point in his career, he was keen on playing the titular character in “The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian,” but he didn’t have the right stuff, or more accurately, the right face.

There are few films this awards season — or even over the past year — that will make you feel more like you’ve consumed a rich, satisfying novel than Kenneth Lonergan‘s “Manchester By The Sea.” The movie, about a man who is forced to face his troubled past when his brother suddenly passes away, leaving him the legal guardian of his new nephew, is a detailed look at the complexity of familial relationships, and the lingering pain of regret.

The soundtrack, which features a score by Harry Gregson-Williams, was released yesterday and can be previewed on the official Disney site. Spektor sings a piano-track not unlike her everyday material called, “The Call,” Lavie sings the warm ballad, “A Dance ‘Round the Memory Tree” and Switchfoot sing the anthemic lighters-in-the-air track, “This Is Home,” which is expected to be the big single from the record (or at least the one certainly to be pushed to jockeys).
