Odds are, if you celebrate Christmas, you’re well aware of the lore surrounding the holiday, specifically the story of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. But just how well do you know about Belsnickel? Well, the upcoming Netflix holiday film, “The Christmas Chronicles: Part 2” pits the most badass Santa around (Kurt Russell) against his anti-holiday foe, Belsnickel, with the fate of Christmas hanging in the balance.

As seen in the trailer, Belsnickel is far from the character Dwight Schrute portrayed in “The Office.” Instead, the villain is played by Julian Dennison.

Kurt Russell is putting his amazing beard to good use this holiday season. Netflix has signed the actor to portray the one and only Santa Claus in a new family film and while that sounds absolutely nuts on paper, it actually kind of works. “The Christmas Chronicles” shows Russell as a new type of Santa. He’s not the jolly, fat, old guy from the North Pole. Russell’s Santa is charming, svelte, and sort of a badass.
