Women ruled the music world over the past 12 months so it was no surprise that female acts dominated the top categories after the 2025 Grammy Awards nominations were revealed. Gayle King, Jim Gaffigan, and several Grammy winners including Brandy Clark, Kirk Franklin, David Frost, Robert Gordon, Kylie Minogue, Gaby Moreno, Deanie Parker, Ben Platt, Mark Ronson, Hayley Williams, and Victoria Monét announced the honorees. Beyoncé led all nominees with 11 and now has 99 nominations overall along with 32 previous wins.

This week will be a deluge of guild and craft organization awards announcements. The Art Directors Guild revealed their nominees for their 2023 ADG Awards and there were genuinely few surprises. In the film categories, likely Oscar nominees “Elvis,” “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” “The Batman,” and “Avatar: The Way of Water” made the cut over three different categories. On the television side, deserving recognition went to “Andor,” “Moon Knight,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “House of Dragon,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Only Murders in the Building.”

Once upon a time, Summit Entertainment had a huge hit on their hands with the “Twilight” movies, focusing on a romance between a vampire and a teenage girl. That success helped push leads Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson into the world of fame alongside the tabloid media’s fevered obsession with their dating lives. If you weren’t following Taylor Swift’s dating history, the singer was in a relationship with the saga’s other star Taylor Lautner at the time and was actually trying to get a cameo in the sequel, “Twilight: New Moon.”

However, it wasn’t meant to be, and director Chris Weitz revealed the reasoning behind why he nixed the cameo on The Twilight Effect podcast (see below).

What was slightly unexpected was Dua Lipa tying her in overall Grammy nods, including those categories and landing Record of the Year for “Don’t Start Now.” Surprisingly, despite predictions neither landed the most nominations. That honor went to Beyonce, of course, with nine.

Roddy Rich also earned six nominations while Brittany Howard earned five.
