Depending on your thoughts about English-language remakes, you’re either going to love or hate this news. According to ErosSTX, the production company is set to make an English-language remake of the French thriller, “My Son.” But there is some hope, as the cast and crew of the feature seem to point to a worthwhile retelling.

STXFilms will produce and distribute a new version of the French film “My Son,” with the original film’s director, Christian Carion returning to direct.

It’s always interesting to see which original horror films get sequels. Critical acclaim often fades into the background, as commercial success pushes production companies forward in making these new films. Films that get panned by critics end up having two, three, or four sequels, while individual critical darlings are one-and-done. In this case, “The Boy,” which came out in 2016 and panned universally by critics, looks to be given a second chance in the form of “Brahms: The Boy II.”

Over the last couple of months, if you’re been to a movie theater, you’ve likely seen the trailer for the upcoming action-thriller “21 Bridges.” The film, which stars Chadwick Boseman as a cop that is tracking down a couple of criminals that murdered police officers, is the first major release from the Russo Brothers’ production company AGBO. However, less than two months before the film’s release, it appears that distributor STX has delayed “21 Bridges.”

According to Deadline, STX and AGBO have decided to move “21 Bridges” from September 27 to November 22.

We sure do hope you didn’t take time off work in August to wait in line at the movie theater for the Dave Bautista kid-friendly action-comedy “My Spy.” Because according to Deadline, STX has pulled the upcoming comedy from it’s August 13th release date for sometime in 2020. But the real question is “why?”

Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea, to begin with, to have two Bautista films arrive in theaters only a month apart, but STX didn’t think about that sooner.
