Ultimately, the question is moot: Ferrell just is. From his cameo in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” to this week’s “The Other Guys,” Ferrell doesn’t merely act; like Tom Hardy in “Inception,” he embodies his characters, taking the legacy of Konstantin Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg and Marlon Brando and bringing it to its ultimate conclusion.

‘Everything Must Go’ For Will Ferrell

It placed high on the 2008 Black List, and is evidently Carson ‘ScriptShadow’ Reeves’ favorite script of all time, but Raymond Carver adaptation “Everything Must Go” has been moving pretty slowly towards production. Until today, that is, with the news from Variety that Will Ferrell has signed to play the lead. Based on Carver’s story “Why Don’t You Dance,” it centers on a man who, when thrown out of his house by his wife, starts to live on the front lawn, trying to sell his possessions.

Will Ferrell Will Play ‘Two-Face’; No It’s Not A Dark Knight Sequel

Before Will Ferrell will have even started playing “Sherlock Holmes” with Sacha Baron Cohen and Judd Apatow, he’ll likely be putting his efforts towards being a “Two Face.”

No, it’s not a ‘Dark Knight’ sequel, keep your pants on. Actually, it’s a new project and script written by “Hancock” scribe Vince Gilligan [ed. uhhh…]. Ferrell will star as a racist who develops a split personality after a prank goes horribly awry (and one half is a bleeding heart liberal).

Stranger Than Fiction: Soundtrack Of The Day

By now you probably think we have a man-crush on Brian Reitzell we’ve written about him so much (he recently just composed the score to the horror flick “30 Days Of Night“).

What can we say dude has good taste – Sofia Coppola knows this, she hires him to be her music supervisor on every film (think the excellent soundtracks of “Lost In Translation,” The Virgin Suicides,” “Marie Antoinette”)

In the liner notes for the “Stranger Than Fiction” soundtrack album, Reitzell wrote:

“When I was approached to do the music for ‘Stranger Than Fiction,’ I thought it might be the perfect occasion for Britt Daniel and I to collaborate…I was basically scoring the film with Spoon songs – it created a kind of sonic thread that had just the right amount of nervy melody and rich, simplistic tone I thought suited Zach’s story and Marc’s vision of the film.
